Trying to edit our opening title sequence is becoming impossible when half your group isn't in the lessons. I don't remember the last time the whole group has been together so we can edit our OTS to how we all like it and we don't even have much time for it all has to be handed in! Our website isn't even nearly finished either! S T R E S S.
So, at the end of last term, we were putting all our clips together and realised we didn't like what we had. We've since sat down and decided to cut the story behind the possession out and just have a non-linear exorcism. Tonight we're going out and filming and to get all the footage we need to complete our OTS.
Got a bit of spare time so I'm sat going through our website trying to correct everyone's grammar and updating my blog. Also trying to finish all the unfinished pages.
As a group we uploaded and looked through our footage from the two evenings we filmed and started organizing them into a timeline. More filming time is needed.
Prepared Bailee's costume today so that we could go out and film the exorcism part of our OTS later today in the cellor of our teachers house. Wish us luck!
FINALLY STARTED TO FILM TODAY!! Spent most of the day preparing my make up and costume so we could start filming our OTS after school. We filmed the bit on the school corridor and hall before Bailee was possessed. We can now blood up Bailee's costume ready for filming the rest of the scenes.
Been on Final Cut making our titles for our Opening Title Sequence. Changing all the fonts to Scorched Earth and the colour to a bloody red.
We covered a lot of editing techniques in todays lesson.
Firstly, we learnt the two types of editing. Continuity editing and Non-Continuity editing. We were taught the definitions of these and when they can be used. We then learnt a bit about transitions. We learnt the three main transition types, what they do and why transitions are used. Thirdly, I wrote down notes on order of shots. This was the reasons we order our shots and what effects it leaves on the audience. Lastly, we learnt about flashbacks. We learnt when was best to use a flashback, how to edit a flashback and what a flashback was. Quite a bit of blooper footage was filmed today whilst filming the interviews. Me, Tash and Bailee left Tahreem to do some catching up on our website, whilst we went and interviewed Bailee, me, Jack Woodard, Soloman Harrison, Will Austin and Connor Dokic to go on our audience research page. I interviewed everyone, acceot myself (of course) and there was where Bailee stepped in.
