Today, in our theory media lesson I learnt what Mise-En-Scene translated to and what aspects in a film it covered. We were then given a worksheet including a screenshot of a scene from 'American Psycho'. On this sheet we had to fill in the element of Mise-En-Scene and why it was used/the connotations of that element.
We made and tested different types of fake blood today, guess who drew the short straw to having it tested on? me.
Once again i'm online finishing all our pages we've started so far and making sure we're caught up and up to date with our website.
Searching through endless backdrops, overlays and sounds on YouTube trying to put together our Distribution Company clip and Production Company clip. Made a group decision with the names of these! "Terrestrial Planet Films" is our Distribution And "Trapped Production" For our Production company.
So in todays lesson we went through a variety of different colours and the meaning behind them. This then made us think about why they're in certain films. We also thought about the impact it had on the audience.
Screenshot here and screenshot there. just Filling our Audience Research pages with audience research to back up our OTS idea.
Watching the Opening Title Sequences of Dexter, se7en, Saw II, fright night and nightmare on elm street, Analyzing them and stating what type of OTS it is. Symbolic, linear or non-Linear.
A New Member? Indeed. Today We Welcomed Tahreem Into Our Group As She Had Only Just Joined, Meaning She Was Looking For A Group To Join. Being A Three, Me, Joe And Tash offered for her to join us.
After Seeing The Ten Shots Used To Make An Effective Opening Title Sequence We Then Flipped Open A Camera And Set Off To The Trees To Film A Practice Opening Title Sequence. This Involved Lots Of Evil Faces And Dramatic Stabbing As I Opted To Be The Killer. I Actually Enjoyed It. It Got To The Point Where We Had To Film A High Shot Of Joe, Who Was The Victim, To Make The Audience Feel Of His Innocence And I Attempted To Climb A Tree. 2 Cut, Red Hands And Cramped Feet Later, Tash Decided To Just Connect The Camera To The Tripod And Hold It As High Up In the Air As She Could. Why Couldn't She Had Thought Of That Before. Editing The Shots Together, Cutting Out The Un-Needed Footage, Adding Sound And Sliding In Transitions And Sounds, We Had Our Practice OTS Finished. In today's Theory lesson we watched a clip from 'Star Wars: The Phantom Menace'. Whilst watching this clip we noted down all the bits of sound we heard. Then through the lesson we were given the names of all the types of sound and the definitions. We were also given examples of when these sounds could be used in films. We then watched a clip from 'Hot Fuzz' and wrote down all the sounds we heard again. but this time we had to label what each type of sound they were.
